Awareness Flags for Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Girl Scouts Heart of the South and the Memphis CAC are spreading good intentions with handmade Awareness Flags—and you’re invited to join them!

The East Memphis Girl Scout Service Unit #178 has been hard at work making beautiful Awareness Flags. We posted photos of them on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages, so check them out!

You’re invited to join in by making Awareness Flags to hang at your home. Here’s how it works:

  • Watch this short YouTube video on making Awareness Flags.
  • Create your Awareness Flags.
  • Post a photo of your Awareness Flags on your social media using the hashtags #CAPMonth901 and #GSHSAwarenessFlags
  • You can also share, repost and retweet the posts on the Memphis CAC’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.

This is a great stay-at-home activity for kids and adults alike. Get out your art supplies and join in! Special thanks to Louise Palazola for coordinating the Awareness Flag project and to artist Lisa Williamson.
