Our wishlist. When you or your organization donate items from our wishlist, you’re helping kids in many ways. Examples of wishlist donations include individually packaged snacks and drinks, therapy supplies, and gift cards for department and office supply stores. These items, generously supplied by community supporters like you, help us provide kids with nourishment, therapeutic tools, and sometimes meet a family’s emergency need. Bear donations. When kids visit the Child Advocacy Center for the first time, it is usually because they’ve been violated by someone they trust—resulting in an undeserved sense of shame. On their first visit to the center, kids get to pick a cuddly new friend from our wall of bears. Your gift of a brand new teddy bear affirms their goodness. It provides them a choice they have control over. And it gives them comfort. We need medium sized bears (14” high or more) that are brand new.
Contact our special events and volunteer coordinator (shartline [at] memphiscac [dot] org) at 901.888.4359 to find out about having a collection drive at your school, community organization, or place of worship. She can provide guidance on the center’s most pressing current needs. Every gift helps a hurt child heal.
